Dear Tom & Family:
Sincere condolences from my family to yours. “Auntie” Thelma was my mother’s (Florence (Davidson) Payne) best friend – since high school. As a child I loved going with mom to visit Thelma & Tom in Toronto, at the farm, and later, as an adult, in Wasaga Beach. Always welcomed with smiles, laughter and outstretched arms – that is a memory I cherish.

Thelma Somers was my grandmother. She was known to family as “Somie”. When I think of her I will always see the smiling face that just beamed with happiness to see you, arms outstretched as she reached to greet you while saying …”Oh dad, look who’s here!” just before she embraced you in a hug.
Thank you Somie for that wonderful memory. The feeling of joy inside after receiving a heartfelt greeting is something I try to share and teach the children I work with everyday. I tell them I learned it from my Somie.
Miss and love you
Lisa xoxo

We are very saddened by Thelma’s passing. She was a gem amongst women. I’ll never forget her coming to my rescue when the contractor had left my deep freezer unplugged and I came home from work to find a season’s worth of fruit thawed. She made pie paastry and sent it over with Pat and I was up all night making pies and saving my winter supply . I still use her recipe for pie pastry. Thanks Thelma
