Peacefully at his home, Tecumseth Pines, Tottenham, on Thursday March 7th, 2013. Walter Gardiner, at the age of 91 years, beloved husband of Merle (Gillespie). Loving father of Gayle Young, Sandra Vincent (Sam), and Janice Kyprianou. Sadly missed by his 5 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Fondly remembered by his niece Ruth Donnelly (Ben).
The family will receive friends at Rod Abrams Funeral Home, 1666 Tottenham Road, Tottenham, 905-936-3477 on Saturday March 16th, 2013 from 10:00 am until time of memorial service in the chapel at 11:00 am. We have many good memories of Walt…many years ago, we visited and had dinner at your house, 5 year old son was looking at Walt’s “stub” and Walt said..”that’s what happens when you chew your finger nails”…..many hours later, driving back to London, from the dark back seat came this small voice” is that really what happens when you chew your finger nails” Ron still rembers that….just shows what a wonderful sense of humour Walt had…we will miss him…
