William Frederick “Bill” Tumber

In Memorial

Tumber, Bill 1Tumber: William Frederick “Bill”
March 27, 1939 – November 12, 2025
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of William Frederick “Bill” Tumber, age 86, who passed away peacefully on November 12, 2025, at home on the family farm in Loretto, ON. His devoted wife of 64 years, Lois (née Roscoe) who never left his side held his hand until the very end, surrounded by the love of their daughters, Wendy and Lori.
Throughout his life, Bill was the beloved Gramps and Poppa of five grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. He leaves behind many family members and friends who will miss him deeply.
Born on March 27, 1939, in Toronto to Frederick and Dorothy Tumber, Bill spent 34 years working for Bell Canada. After taking early retirement, he devoted himself to farming full-time, cherishing time with family and travelling with Lois. Together, they always found and joyfully took the road less travelled, creating a lifetime of unforgettable memories.
In his spare time, Bill loved to garden and had a special talent for nurturing orchids an “orchid whisperer,” as his family fondly recalls. When he wasn’t farming, he served as the renowned taste-tester of Grandma cookies and the family’s trusted head turkey carver. Bill had a remarkable memory and could recall people, places, and stories with crystal clarity. Wherever he went, he never hesitated to strike up a conversation one that might turn into a friendship or spark a new adventure.
We invite you to join us as we say farewell to Bill and celebrate a lifetime of family, friendship, and exploration.
Visitation will be held on Monday November 17, 2025 at Rod Abrams Funeral Home, 1666 Tottenham Rd., Tottenham ON 905-936-3477 from 1pm until time of Funeral Service in the chapel at 2pm. A reception will follow in the funeral home’s Cliffside Hall.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to Make A Wish Canada, the Heart and Stroke Foundation, or a charity of your choosing. Online condolences and memories may be shared at www.RodAbramsFuneralHome.com.Tumber, Bill 2

    Dear Lois and your family.

It is with the sadness we hear the fact Bill passed away. He was a phenomenal person, neighbor and a magnificent human being.

However, the fact is that Bill is always with us, with all his family, the neighbors, the people who just met him, He sees us all and hears us all, as because Bill is in HEAVEN among ANGELS.
we may not see and hear Him, but Bill has the ABILITY to see and hear and be everywhere He wants to be.
“The highest tribute to the dead is not grief but gratitude”, and we are forever GRATEFUL TO BILL FOR EVERYTHING.
Your neigbors from up the street

Bill was an exceptionally kind man and a generous and caring neighbour. He helped my family many times, from pulling a tractor out of the mud to delivering hay for our hungry horses for years. He was unfailingly courteous and cheerful. He was full of love for his family and spoke of them often and with pride. Bill was a pillar of the community and will be deeply missed. My heartfelt condolences to his family.

Bill came to us from Toronto and moved to Adjala. At work we always kidder him not to plant his chickens upside down. However, Bob Taylor the Simco ag rep once told me that he had one of thr better commercial cow herds in the county..he built it himself.
Bill thought the world of his family and often talked about meeting Lois and his Calient car.
Bill was a true friend and everything he did from cabinets ,carpentry to his Bell technical ability and his family farm was completed with caring professional
    ‘Bill Tumber’ demeanor.
    Condolence to all your family.
    Rest in peace Bill
