Drummond: Wilton David “Wil”,
(Retired Metro Police Constable #3735, 14th Division and Drug Treatment Court)
Wil Drummond passed away, in his 78th year, at Mackenzie Health Hospital Richmond Hill, on June 9th, 2024. He was the beloved father of Matthew and Jaclyn Drummond, dearly loved son of the late Harold and Irene Drummond, and predeceased by his sister Glenda Timmons. He will be forever in the hearts of his extended family and friends.
Cremation has taken place. A drop-in Celebration of Wil’s Life will be held at Rod Abrams Funeral Home 1666 Tottenham Rd., Tottenham 905-936-3477 on Thursday June 13, 2024 from 2-4pm in the Cliffside Hall. In memory of Wil, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Diabetes Canada, or the Kidney Foundation would be appreciated. I worked with Wil at 14 Division for quite a few years. He was a good man and I enjoyed working with him. He really knew how to gather up all the information for our memo books and not miss any details. He was well liked by all his fellow officers. He was a fine person and police officer.

He had a heart of gold and a laugh that just came straight from his belly and you couldn’t help but laugh with him. I first met Wil when I joined 14 Division in 1984. We shared a scout car and walked the beat together many a time. Wil taught me so many things about policing. He was a true professional; a man with integrity who treated everyone he met with kindness. A perfect “Gentleman” .

We took him out for lunch last September when he was trapped in a failing body.

Wil’s joy in life was being a father. He loved to travel and nothing ignited his spirit quite like when he recalled his stories of taking Matthew and Jaclyn on trips, of snorkelling, of marvelling at all the new and different experiences during their travels.
Wil was a patient man, so very kind, and he was an excellent listener. (And a darn good talker!) He was a dedicated Toronto Police Officer and enjoyed a meaningful and fulfilling career.
Wil was lovingly cared for over these past years by Matthew. Wil loved to brag about Matt’s cooking, his attentiveness, and his steadfast commitment to ensuring Wil’s comfort and quality of life.
Matthew -your dad was so very humbled by, and appreciative of your devotion to him. I am so sorry for your, and your sister’s loss.
May your many, many happy memories of your loving dad give you strength and sustain you in the days ahead.

Matt and Jaclyn, your dad was a special person. Sharon, Wil and I raised a glass at family functions to being the happy in-laws as he had quite a sense of humour. Wilton made sure I had someone to have lunch with when I was to Newmarket often for doctors appointments and follow up, always offering support and interest in how each others families were doing. Wilton always had stories of adventures on the force, on trips in the Caribbean or just his daily observations. My mom and dad enjoyed being around Wilton, he had the gift of the gab and was always entertaining. My own children, Rob and Kyle, enjoyed being around Wilton and often asked for his help and advise. John and I extend our prayers and condolences to you both.
